Absolutely not. I play my Electra MPC Les Paul copy with a very LIGHT guage string, like a .008. All the better for bending, and hammer on, hammer off funky licks.
No, you have not seen a pic of that one. I have had it since I was 14, I am now 41. I only play it at home generally, and only in the last couple of months has it ever left the house since early in my marriage. I now play it at church.
