If they spend it all on bubble gum and lawn care, it's no matter to me. That's between the powers that be and God....
I believe the tithes are to support the MINISTRY which includes the pastor and the other expenses of the church.....How it's divided up and handled, I trust my pastor and the trustees, or whomever they are, to handle things correctly and in accordance with scripture and of course the IRS.
Our church financials are an open book, anyone, at any time can see how much comes in and where it goes. The only thing you cannot see is who actually gives what..but you can see how much comes in and where they spend it.
If fact, we had our business meeting last night, as I'm sure many of you have had recently or will be having, and our pastor or actually the accountant read off the figures....
but none of that matters to me - I trust my pastor with the finances and with the responsibilty he has for his "flock" as far as teaching/preaching and feeding us...
If someone is sitting under a pastor that is not open and above board, well there is some cause for concern....and I'd consider finding a more trustworthy pastor. But the Bible says I'm to pay tithes....so I pay them, GLADLY

I don't refute any paying you are doing.
I am just saying that the tithe was commanded to be divided and God demanded that widows, orphans, strangers, porters etc be ministered to by the tithe as well.
Do you care whether they get to ministered to by the tithe as God commanded?
