Enforcement is something that troubles me. What good does it do? This is New Covenant, not the old. It is of faith, and voluntary obedience, not a rod. I am troubled by all of this. Integrity would lead a man to declare himself in agreement, and then endeavor to live that way. People who willingly submit to a pastor do not need "enforcement." If they do it because of enforcement, are they doing it from the heart? I understand platform standards and enforcement, for the sake of those who see their leadership--but for the pew? I have a hard time with that one. It does not seem New Testament enough. Now, on the other hand, we can speak prophecy regarding sin--but what more do we need? What is enforcement? Are we going to disfellowship everybody who doesn't do it, say it, believe it exactly as we say? Seems more like the USSR than a church if we did that.
