I am not really being critical as much as stating the facts. I remember Bethel in Evansville which was influenced by the latter rain movement. When they began to teach one may or may not speak in tongues upon recieving the HGB. In a decade it nearly vanished and it wasn't until the Charismatic movement was in full bloom did they start promoting the HG again. For nearly 40 yrs. the church was like a regular Baptist church. Their numbers were huge
I think this will become a trend among those Charismatic leaning churches. I was refreshed to read in this issue of Charisma which was about the 100th year anniversary of the COGIC Bishop Blakes insistance on remaining Pentecostal in the HGB experience.
