Can't speak for CA, but when he came to MI in the early 70s, the church had split wide open and had dwindled from 800 to 90 members.
He worked and prayed and strove with people...me being one of those people, teaching us to become.
When he resigned 6 years later, the church membership was back to near 800, with a brand new facility, and a reputation for caring and reaching for souls.
I don't agree on every point, this latest issue in particular, but I wouldn't dare point a finger at his motives.

He is great as what he does, one of the best... And as I said, I don't have to question motives when they are voiced... He does not hold back in those areas...
