Amen. Every child of God should research and rehearse this subject with utmost diligence. I love this great topic! Although I haven't seen many threads here survive the trend of becoming silly; or many discussions about holiness, not slip into another "standard thread", one can always hope.

Looking at your two statements, it is obvious that we need God in our lives. We do not attain holiness without the holy God endowing us with it. I believe this endowment comes, when we recieve the infilling of His spirit; the Holy Ghost.

Holiness is more then just a set of rules to live by, it's a producing of the Fruit of the Spirit in our lives. Can we produce the fruit if we are not Holy or does producing the fruit give evidence of His Holiness in our lives?
See above paragraph. We do not produce holiness by adopting a set of rules. God produces the fruit of holiness by simply being there. If after we recieve the Holy Ghost we will continue walking with and in His spirit; His Spirit which is holiness, will bring forth the fruits of holiness. Which is why OSAS is not biblical, but that is another subject.

Jesus once came upon a fig tree looking for a fig to eat, he know it was a fig tree by looking at it, yet he cursed it when he didn't find any fruit.

Wouldn't it be horrible to look the part but produce no fruit and be cursed?
Yes it would. Jesus said the tares would grow with the wheat and that they would be seperated at the harvest. We must be fruitful or we shall burn. Holiness or hell is not a catch phrase, it is mandatory for our eternal life. We need Jesus every day, every hour, every minute.
