I would like to tell you a mistake saints make who have good intentions but this mistake that is told about comes straight from the mouth of a backslidder, My child.

When they come to church and want to go to the altar, and do, they are almost enthronged by people laying hands on them and praying for them.

This is not always what a backslidder wants. Sometimes they just want a person or a couple people to pray with them. It makes them feel like a spectacle when everyone encircles them and gets in there face.They have enough guilt and problems trying to touch God without another huge distraction.

Just thought I would give this to think about so that next time your wanting to pray with a backslidder allow those people that are close to the person to handle a situation and pray at your pew for them.
