So I said he'd be welcome to come by to pray for here anytime. He told me that the Bible says for the sick to call for the elders of the church. He said that Jesus never went to the sick to pray for them, that they came to him. He said he doesn't go to the sick, that they would have to come to his church for prayer. He doesn't visit his own people in hospitals for this reason.

Talk about a slap in the face. What do you all think of this? Have you ever heard of anything like this? I was probably wrong, but, well, I guess I got angry. I told him, "On second thought, I'd rather not have you to come and pray for my wife". Had to do some repenting for my attitude.

I know this isn't common among Apostolic people. I've had people on this forum who have offered to drive great distances to come pray for her. What do you think about a preacher like this? Is he lazy or what???

The mere fact that you wanted him to pray for your wife fulfilled the "call for the Elders".

Goofy.
