Maybe I've got my dates wrong.
I just checked a book that the Covenant Apostolic Church put out in 1995 for their 50th anniversary.
They started in 1945 (at least I had that right) with home prayer meetings and 17 people. They grew and organized with a constitution and three elders -Wallace Isaacs, Neal Wheeler, and Curtis Young, who were also trustees; plus a secretary -Roy Hempel; and a treasurer -Elmer Cagle. Then they started meeting Sis. Winston's basement. The first pastor was E.G. Lowe until he left in 1947. During the time Bro. Lowe was pastor, they purchased a building at 2506 Vine Street. This was known by people at Bro. Curts' church as "the church on the hill." In 1947, James Verdier was chosen as pastor. He left in October, 1952 and returned to Benton, Arkansas. Bro. Joe David Sizemore became pastor on January 3, 1953 (I had that date wrong). He was 21 years old and his wife was 19. In 1960 they broke ground for a new building and they changed their name to Carthage Apostolic Church. In 1980 they had a ground breaking for a new building, with an open house in 1981 and dedication in 1982. I'm not sure when their son David became asst. pastor. Bro. Sizemore's health deteroriated and when he died in January 2003 they had purchased a home in Florida and were going to move their. Shortly before his death, his son David resigned as pastor and then assumed pastorate of a church in Florida.

Sorry about messing up the 1951 and 2001 dates.
