My sister sat back to watch her seeing if she reacted appropriately as she had been taught...my niece politely said, "Thank-you very much", and went on to open the next gift. After everyone left, my niece gave her Mom the doll and asked her to give it to a needy child. My sister felt pride in knowing she had trained her daughter well.

On the other hand, I know of another instance where a child [4 or 5] had gotten a gift from a friend [play plastic jewelry] and she proceeded to tell this person that "Jesus don't like people who wear earrings"...When asked who taught her that she said her Mom and Dad. This mother and father would not let the young lady associate with the person any more on the premise that she was being taught contrary to what they believed. This is an example of the wrong way to 'train up a child'.

So, I do agree that because of today's society, T.V. should be limited, movies carefully screened, and and parents should teach their children manners, how to love those who are unlike themselves, and how to give a Godly answer when faced with similar dilemmas.
We limited our TV and movies to 0%. We taught our daughter "Jesus is displeased with bad things on TV." Sometimes in a young child's mind, then J"Jesus don't like those who watch TV."

Your logic is somewhat flawed here, Sis.

Or I read it wrong.
