I would like to say they may be valid to God but not so much to man... There appears to be much foolishness that has potential to appall and offend.
but outside obedience in the act, I am not sure why they need to acceptable to God. The primary reason for baptism is to proclaim to men that you have accepted the work of Jesus on the cross, and are identifying with Him in death/burial and rising to walk in newness of life. God hears the personal cry of repentance - even if it is silent, but baptism is a public declaration to all.
If people are getting baptised to be healed... to get saved or to find Jesus... to try to leave sin in the water...
It may be "acceptable" but misguided nevertheless.
