My sister just called. She has a college friend named Kelly who is a chaplain with the US military in Iraq. Kelly had a few weeks of leave time, and chose to come home to Texas to spend it with her husband for his birthday, which is today. Last night, Kelly's husband went for a motorcycle ride to pick up something-- and was late getting back. Kelly tried to call his cell phone and couldn't get an answer. She got a call a short time later from the hospital. Her husband was killed in a motorcycle accident just a little before midnight last night.
