In the NT, IMO, these verses carry the implication of reviving/renewing.
2 Timothy 1:6 "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou
stir (re-enkindle) up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands."
I Peter 1:13 "Wherefore
gird (gird afresh) up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"
