I read the paper and for the most part it seems it is more of a polemic than an apology or objective position. He broadstrokes quite a bit in here and he isn't consistent in his application of cultural context in his hermeneutic, and in some of his exegesis he misses the context of key passages altogether interpreting the passage from an eisegetical pov rather than do what he says we should do and start from the basis of authorial intent.
