Prax,

Just wanted to put out these translations which say "the" and not "a" and again ask the above question, "Which text is the reliable source?"

Frankly, I don't see it changing the meaning at all, but we have it almost half and half between "the" and "a".

(NIV) Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

(ASV) But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

(KJV) But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

(NKJV)But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

(Holman Christian Standard) But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of the woman, and God is the head of Christ.

(Third Millennium Bble) But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.

(NIV) Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

(The Douay-Rheims Bible) But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ: and the head of the woman is the man: and the head of Christ is God.
