I came to the Cincinnati area in the spring of 1957 and attended a UPC church. At that time there were a couple of men in the church who had facial hair.
Neither had a beard but both had a thin mustache. Nobody thought anything of it. These were both white men. One was probably in his sixties and one in his forties.
