We have several of the wind up flashlights for lighting. We also have a couple of coleman lanterns, a couple of oil lamps, and at least a dozen jar candles. We have a wind up radio that will keep us informed of anything that's going on (if the radio stations have back up generators to broadcast with).

We have a coleman camp stove and a gas grill for cooking. We also have a couple of dutch ovens and other things that can be used for cooking on an open fire.

I lost count of how many two liter bottles I have filled with water. We also have a pool that would become an emergency water source if needed.

Wind up flashlight sounds interesting, did you get that at a camping store? Maybe I need to visit one soon. We are in hurricane season and last year we were without electricity for a good while. We do have a generator but you can't run it 24/7.
