I wasn't watching when Matthews made his now infamous statement, but I did read about it. It's nothing worth wasting time getting ruffled over it. I do not subscribe to subsets of the human race. My perspective is that there is race (human) and there is ethnicity (e.g. African-American). Ethnicity was an issue in the bible, it is still an issue today, and I believe that it will always be an issue within society. At times it flares up and at times it just simmers. There will be people that will try to blow this up and that is really annoying and frustrating. What is important is that we who proclaim to be Christians do not allow ethnicity to become an issue for us.

Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."
