Re: Crownover's Holiness PPT: Admits to Traditions

I don't think it's a very good point! First of all, ANY type of music can be turned up to blast out of the speakers. LOL! Secondly, what's too loud to one person is just fine to another.

Also, since you can die from the effects of smoking, and you can't die from listening to music that's really loud, you can't exactly draw a direct comparison.

Our kids went to a concert where "Skillet" was playing, and from what I understand (I didn't go), it was ear-shattering even in the nosebleed seats. Not my cup of tea, but the kids had fun. I would completely disagree that it's a sin to listen to loud music. (Or even that it violates biblical principles.)

Psalm 95:1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

Consider the meaning of "noise":

rûa‛

A primitive root; to mar (especially by breaking); figuratively to split the ears (with sound), that is, shout (for alarm or joy): - blow an alarm, cry (alarm, aloud, out), destroy, make a joyful noise, smart, shout (for joy), sound an alarm, triumph.

That sounds like a pretty loud noise to me.
