And yes, doing anything other than beating them about the head and face with Nerf baseball bats would play into their martyrdom.
These guys told us that the world was going to end a long time back. Now they're stuck with
2 Timothy 3:12-13, as their only "End-time" doom and gloom mantra. They must have bifurcated garments getting "worse and worse" and the slippery slope of compromise becoming more seductive or they don't have a message at all.
And, of course, we must feel sorry for them and pity the miserable way they've been neglected by their compromising brethren. When you take the cross out of Christianity you will find people doing all kinds of things to justify themselves.
