Well, if they wore jeans they'd be acting like men, according to what I've heard preached. If they wear fishnet stockings they are just trying to verify their femininity by wearing something no man would be caught dead in. 
Oddly enough, no one has mistaken me for a man when I wore jeans, so I assume the theory above may have a hole in it somewhere.
