Many years ago I read a sermon which used "Is not this the Carpenter?" (
Mark 6:3) as its text. I think it may have been a sermon by C.M. Ward who was the speaker on Revivaltime (radio voice of the Assemblies of God) for many years.
He said that Jesus was known among the villagers as a carpenter. They could bring their broken toys or tools or furniture to Him for repair. And, just as He could mend or rebuild their stuff 2000 years ago, Today He can mend, restore, repair and rebuild:
broken lives
broken hearts
broken minds
broken bodies
broken dreams
broken spirits
broken homes
etc.
if we will just bring them to Him.
I might just preach that myself some day.
