The purpose of these forums is really to serve as a sounding board (or a playground) for those who may not have been able to talk about their experiences in the OP world.

Presumably, there are other ways to reach the lost. For me, this was a place for the wounded to heal and questions to be asked. In our OP churches there are too many structures in place that seek to perpetuate the existing powers and this enforces a climate of silent, unquestioning submission to whoever is running the steamroller.

Too many of our churches are NOT the place to find healing, whether you're lost or especially if you're a long time saint. Jack Yohe started the first incarnation of this forum to address that need and to provide a place where questions could be asked. AFF simply carries that forward.

Our way of doing business has hindered us from actually reaching thew lost world that surrounds us. I spent years trying to reach people and bringing them to an OP church - just to find that this was NOT the place I should be bringing lost souls. It was a corrosive and destructive environment. The place was ruled by hate and a real clinical mental pathology. I had no one I could turn to for help. No one. And, I was as faithful as an old dog by nature. Leaving was not an option I could even bear to consider.

Finally, it seemed that God Himself was so frustrated that events were brought to a head and I was kicked out. Literally. That church doesn't even exist anymore. The place that I dedicated the best years of my life to build. In a way, some of it still goes on. But everything that caused so much pain to so many people has been buried in the past.

As a warning to others I feel that I still must point out just what that heap in the ground represents. It truly was, and is "Ichabod!"
