Referenced in Qur'an Sura 53:19-23 that was later taken out. The first major islamic historian Ibn Ishaq referenced it in the first biography of Mohammed.

Ok, but consider that Allah is also the Arabic word for "God", just as Elohim is for God in our bible. Elohim derives from the heathenistic semitic cultures that Abraham lived in before he was called to follow The one True Elohim.

Yes I understand and know about pre-islamic religion. In fact they were into goddess worship as well (you can see this in the Kaaba too), but supposedly Muhammed denouced all that to follow the One true Allah or God. The same God as the Jews, though the Jews were misguided in their view.

Im not an apologist for Muhammed or the Koran but I don't think it's a great argument that the they worshipped the Moon god before Muhammed supposedly got his revelations
