that is always how I heard it as well. But this idea of the cross really stuck with me to pursue it with that in mind.

A couple of years ago I was reading Hebrews 10 and Psalm 40 and saw the connection by realizing that the writer of Hebrews was quoting from the LXX but the Hebrew text had a little different reading.
"Mine ears hast thou opened" --did that mean Jesus had His ear(s) pierced? Reckon He wore an ear ring? Could Christian men today wear an ear ring to demonstrate their willing submission to Jesus as their Lord and Master?

lol I guarantee some take it that way!

This post is a sorta hodge podge. Who do you reckon is the author of the Book of Hebrews? Paul (as many seem to believe); Luke (might explain the LXX quote and no reference to pierced ears of a slave); Barnabas (a Levite and should be familiar with the priesthood, sacrifices, and ritual addressed in the book); Priscilla (maybe the only woman to author a NT book)?

I sorta lean towards Paul. He really stressed the single sacrifice in
Romans 6 as
Hebrews 10 does. Also, some think Apollos since he was so eloquent and mighty in scriptures.
