And I totally have room to swallow the 40 offerings but the wisdom to this brings legitimate questions. Why not have a private viewing and auction after service? Was this the time and place to have a memorabilia sale with the "unchurched" present?

Dan, bless your heart, it wasn't your call or mine. We were not a part of
what was going on. No one asked me how they should do it.
Since you were not there and as you said, your mother told you what
happened, why start a thread criticizing those who were there. Why not
let GOD judge it! Some on this forum constantly criticize most everything
that goes on. So what if they took 40 offerings. Are you UPC! Why should
you care what goes on there if you weren't there. I don't agree with every-
thing that comes down the pike, but I don't serve the UPC. I appreciate
things about it, but I serve God and am not about to run down everything
that happens. A critical spirit can be worse than some of the things people
do.
