I think we've seen both happening simultaneously even in my generation. There have been huge sweeping moves of God in different places around the world but also many many who are growing lukewarm and falling away.

I can only speak from our own experience but I know that any revivals we've had in the churches we've pastored through the years have happened unexpectedly and in ways that we didn't plan. God just moved.

It's like I said earlier. I think that revival comes as a result of a synchronization of God's time, God's man, God's plan and God's will.

Prayer is an absolute essential and sometimes a result of prayer that was made long before we ever walked through the doors of a church where we felt God led us to pastor and lead.
I think God's part in the thing is that His church is apathetic and He does things to break them out of their mediocrity. We don't have to wait for God to have revival, but if we don't all want it enough and a few are praying.....God will work on the others some how
