Some Prayer Questions

Has anybody here ever "read" or "recited" a prayer such as:

--The Lord's prayer, or The Our Father, or The Pater Noster
--Psalm 23, 51, 91 or some other Psalm
--The Apostles' Creed
--The Jesus Prayer
--The Serenity Prayer
--The Prayer of St. Francis
--The Rosary

Do you think God hears and/or acknowledges written or recited prayer?

Do you think we should pray more in our own language than we do in our prayer language? or just the opposite? or pretty much half and half?

Re: Some Prayer Questions

Yes, I believe He honors His Word. So if we are praying Psalm or The Lord's prayer, he hears.

Re: Some Prayer Questions

Recitation of words His or otherwise is of little value without the heart truly in it...hence to resist vain repition.

I feel that praying in the Spirit is just as important as praying in our native language. HOwever praying in the Spirit comes with the added bonus of building our faith in a way that our native language does not.
