Yeah I said it... hmm
I come across overly zealous at times but its hard not to be zealous when you live in a world that has perverted scriptures and twisted them to fit what we feel the Word should say instead of preaching what God has ordained it to say! That which we don’t like we pass off as not being relevant and discard!
I have been in a UPCI all my life but I will be the first to admit that the depths of my doctrinal loyalties do not lie with the UPCI but with the Word of God! Any organization that is made up of men is capable of corrupting truth and putting their own spin on the Word of God! History is evidence to this fact!
I don’t believe what I believe just because I was told to believe it! But I have spent the hours studying and reading for myself scriptures and bible absolutes in doctrine! I studied from the many of the denominational perspectives and I have found in prayer and study that the UPC Doctrinal beliefs line up with the word of God more than the other denominations! But the UPC is not perfect and capable of errors so when it comes to doctrine my loyalties lie not in an organization but it the infallible Word of God which is given for doctrine, correction, reproof, and instruction in righteousness!
Yet i realize and am not ignorant of the fact that many of you have done the same amount of studying and reading, and praying! And yet we still come to such a variation in interpretation or what the scriptures really say! Do any of us have a full grasp of the Word.. No! But yet there are bible absolutes which should not be open to interpretation because the Word stands alone in the truth it proclaims.
I admit that at one time i was open minded to the possibilities of other truths but I have closed my mind just as most of us on here has! And I’m not ashamed to say im closed minded on certain doctrinal issues!
I haves studied and I see the truth in the oneness of God, the essentiality of Jesus name baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the sign and evidence of speaking in tongues! I see the scriptural distinction in separation and holiness- holiness in dress but most importantly holiness of the heart! I don’t claim to understand all of scripture or even what I do understand to its fullest extent and I am not ashamed to believe such doctrine cause i feel it to be the Word of God!
I realize many of you may pass me off as a young and inexperienced! Some of you may even pray for my soul that I would come to your "truth" and see the light! Some of yall probably wont even really care what I have to say! But Truth is I’m not here to gain your approval of my walk with God, I’m here to share my faith, my heart, and my love for God and His Word with anyone that will listen! If you receive it, AWESOME! If not, its okay cause I may just be the seed planter and someone else may water, and another harvest the fruit of Gods Word in your hearts!
We must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, if we get it wrong we are the only one to blame because we were the ones blinded by religious traditions. We cant blame no one but ourselves on that day!
so where does one really go from this point?
What direction is AFF heading? We will continually be a cesspool of repetitious debates that go nowhere?
The body of Christ is divided as AFF is divided! You have Baptist going one way and Pentecostals the other, Methodist do their own thing and catholic theirs. Its like the head turned one way, the hand going another, while the foot is toe tapping to the beat of its own drummer!
I know this is long but just some thoughts on my mind!! Thanks for listening and God bless each of you!

: It is time for us Christians, to face up to our responsibility for holiness. Too often we say we are “defeated” by this or that sin. No, we are not defeated; we are simply disobedient. It might be well if we stopped using the terms victory and defeat to describe our progress in holiness. Rather we should use the terms obedience and disobedience.

Brother the bottom line is that if we can discuss/witness in meekness and gentleness, those that oppose themselves might find deliverance. On the other hand man has flesh to contend with and once offended, he/she will go from having a discussion to a heated argument. That's just part of it.
Those who are spiritual (At the moment,) restore the others. I personally have benefitted from certain patient brethren and I've been delivered from misinterpretations. At the end of the day if we seek we shall find, if we knock, the door will be opened.
I thank God for those that can instruct in meekness, but I also thank God for the zealous. The meek inherit the earth, the meek win souls, the meek set many free. The zealous, not so much...
