I was very touched by the interview of him this morning on the Today show! He mentioned that he has been living in homeless shelters and on the streets for ten years. To be able to fly to New York to see his mother and be interviewed, he had to go thru the process of getting a legal ID, because he didn't have one! The homeless shelters had to sign affidavits that he was indeed who he claimed he was!

I loved this article that explains some of the back-story and more about the man who stopped to talk with Ted Williams.

"It's part of my faith," he said after some prodding about his motivations. "You may not be able to help someone with money, but you can at least say hello, how you doing, and look at them."
