What at joke. Everyone should have to pay taxes no matter if they made 1,000/year.
I'm sure there is a common sense answer to all this but because it's politics we will continue to go down
I say we start with doing away with wasteful, spending, welfare, seal the border, no benefits to none citizens, make sure those on disablity are actual disable. We could save billions just on changing a few things. ..

I read the following... rolled my eyes... and quit reading.
Quote:
Taxes too high?
Actually, as a share of the nation's economy, Uncle Sam's take this year will be the lowest since 1950, when the Korean War was just getting under way.
Yeah... If the people actually brought home the same percentage of the nation's economy that would be relevant. It isn't.
If the rest of the story is built on that thought... when I do read it... I will have wasted my time.

Truthseeker, unfortunatly saving billions wont do a blessed thing.
The Federal Government needs to get back in the pants the Constitution originally put it in. Cut, cut, cut, cut, cut and then eliminate, eliminate, eliminate and eliminate more.
From the article.... this is what is wrong with this country.... this is the democrat mindset:
"The current state of the tax code is simply indefensible," says Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., chairman of the Senate Budget Committee. "It is hemorrhaging revenue."
tax code is hemorrhagaing revenue????
he should have said the tax code is great, people are keeping thier money! the problem isnt taxes. the problem is spending is out of wack!

Yep... it's like saying we are in debt up to our eyeballs and the problem is our employer isn't keeping up with our spending.

The article is misleading, making it sound like taxes are less, but not because lower tax rate but because less tax being collected from layoffs, ecoconmy ...

and here is a repbulican idiot that doesnt get it:
America's tax system is clearly broken," Donald Marron, a former economic adviser to Bush, told the Senate Budget Committee at a recent hearing. "It fails at its most basic task, which, lest we forget, is raising enough money to pay for the federal government."
