International Apostolic Fellowship

https://iafconference.com/

PURPOSE OF THIS FELLOWSHIP
Where-as there are many ministers of the Apostolic Faith, who feel the need of a clean fellowship agreement that will allow brethren of like faith to fellowship, regardless of which oneness group they may or may not belong to. With this purpose in mind, and by the help and grace of God, the International Apostolic Fellowship, Inc. has been formed.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible to be the direct and absolute word of God (II Timothy 3:16) given to us by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost as it moved upon the tongues and pens of men who have received special anointing of God for this expressed purpose. We believe the Bible to be God’s means of doctrine, instruction and comfort to the Church today, infallible in its authority, singular in its interpretation, and man’s only avenue of access to God.

THE ONE TRUE GOD
We believe in the one ever-living, eternal God; infinite in power, Holy in nature, attributes, and purpose; and possessing an absolute, invisible deity. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father in creation; through His Son in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit by animation. (I Corinthians 8:6) (Ephesians 4:6) (II Corinthians 5:19) (Joel 2:28)
The scripture does not attempt to prove the existence of God; it assorts, assumes, and declares that the knowledge of God is universal. (Romans 1:19, 21, 28, 32; 2:15)

The first of all commandments is “Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord.” (Mark 12:29) (Deuteronomy 6:4) “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Ephesians 4:6) This One True God manifested Himself in the Old Testament in divers ways; in the Son while He walked among men; and the Holy Spirit after the ascension.

THE APOSTOLIC DOCTRINE
The basic and fundamental doctrine of this Fellowship shall be the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins, and baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. (Acts 2:4 & 2:38) (John 3:5).

We believe that Godly living should characterize the life and walk of all saints according to the sign and example found in (I Peter 2:21) (Titus 2:11) (Galatians 2:20) (Hebrews 12:14) (I Peter 1:15-17).

We believe we are to cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God and to abstain from ALL appearance of EVIL, and turn away from those who have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof.

CC1 - You're in TN, right? This looks to be near your neck of the woods. Have you heard about this? Do you know Denny Livingston or anything about his father, the late Bishop Dean Livingston?

I don't know Denny Livingston myself but a friend of mine knew him well many years ago and speaks highly of him.

He pastors Point of Mercy church in Nashville. I don't think they currently have a website but they have a very active FB page I will post a link to below. They stream their services so you can probably find links there to videos.

If I am not mistaken I believe he was ALJC but don't think he is now. Based on the couple of videos I checked out of his church a few months ago they do not adhere to the typical old time OP dress codes.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

The church he used to pastor is associated with the UPCI. Not sure if that's something new or what.

Watched a video of one of their services. Too many videos and too much production though, IMO.

A church I left a few years ago started using more video bumpers for the service intro, offering and sermon intro. Hated it. Made it feel less a church service and more a production. People would be worshipping and the spirit of God would be moving and then the dumb video would come on with some announcement or short story. Spoke with the pastor about it, but the media guy was his assistant pastor and also his son in law, so that went nowhere. I eventually resigned my board and ministry position there. Then after the men's group started watching a series by Andy Stanley, we left.
