Another music thread
what type of music does your church play? Use? Whatever…
I want to make a good playlist. Please list some songs.
If it airs on Christian radio chances are that I probably don’t like it.
And GO..!

Our pastors son writes a good bit of original material. If I can see if he has some recordings Ill be happy to send them.
Music like "If you've been through, what Ive been through, theres one thing, that you've gotta do, take back everything the devils stole from you, stomp his head till your heel is bruised!"

Well, that seems theologically incorrect.

Re: Another music thread
Also, anything like “I’m a Pentecostal” or “I’m a one-god-apostolic-holy-roller…”
Or
“What kind of church is this
It’s an apostolic Church..
It’s a hand clappin
It’s an isle runnin
It’s a pew jumpin
It’s a devil stompin
It’s a Pentecostal apostolic church”
Are a no-go.

Why don't you give me some examples of "theologically sound" music.

I’m going through a mid-life crisis. I really miss UPCI 1997.

That reminds me of 2017 when I went to Tennessee for my sister's wedding. Back in the late 80's / early 90's, when I was a kid, I recall my mom, sisters and I went to St. Louis and visited headquarters (I don't remember why), and stopped by the bookstore there. So as I'm heading through St. Louis to Tennessee, I decide I'll do the same.
First thing that stood out when I looked up the address, is that the location was different. As I'm getting off the interstate, I noticed that I was in a more industrial area. I keep on going and drove into the parking lot, and while there were several cars in the lot, I didn't see a single person. I eventually decide to check it out and went to the front doors. After entering in the first set of doors, there's only a security keycard pad (for digital ID's) with no way of getting through.
Thankfully, there was someone in reception that saw me and decided to let me in anyway, but apparently you can't just drop by headquarters for a visit anymore. They also no longer have the bookstore. Times sure have changed.

Re: Another music thread
I play and sing in my church. I play multiple instruments.
However, I don’t listen to music that much anymore, not even as background noise
I ge tired of the same thing over and over. Boring melo rock songs. Same silly lyrics, sometimes even carnal.
I enjoy reciting portions of Psalms, and maybe even sing it!!
Psalms 40:1-3
Faith Persevering in Trial
( Ps. 70:1–5)
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD.
And the Psalms 145, oh yeah!!
There is an often dissonance between modern music and Psalms.
There are still some good stuff out there. I like the Lord’s prayer by the Wilbanks, and Wait on the Lord by James Wilson.
