Titles at a wedding?
I am at a wedding... the pastor announced Mr. and Mrs. Surname, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Is that a common practice?

Yes. I think it's cool. It's their first time to be addressed in that formal way.

VERY and it is in every Ministers Manual and book of Weddings.
I instructed the A/G Pastor that married us that he was to say, "In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ." We wrote our own ceremony and vows and told him he was NOT to say F, S, HG in our wedding. He didn't like it, but he did what we asked. We were A/G and very Charismatic at the time but we had been baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and did not want F, S, HG spoken over us!

lol...isn't it funny that we get so into our doctrinal debates that we forget it was actually Jesus Christ who first spoke F,S,HG?
haha...

Haha...not! Jesus never said "Whatever you do in word or deed, that do in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost"

- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Titles at a wedding?
I don't think there is a thing "funny" about asking that the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST be spoken over us! I have always done EVERYTHING I do in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

ok...you apparently did not get the joke...
I was just saying that sometimes we run away from the phrase "in the name of F,S,HG" as if it's not biblical...last time I checked, it came from Matt 28:19
