Travelling question

Ok Travellers, listen up.

If'n you were gonna take a cross country trip from, say N Ala, to, say N. Az. And If'n (my best Sheriff Andy Taylor impression- "Now, Barney, don't interupt my IF'N"), If'n you had 3 weeks to take this trip (1 week in AZ), and if'n you wanted to see some sights in, say, Texas, N Mex, AZ, then (on return) Colorado, and all points east. The question is what sights, what places would you reccomend? (I'm tired of IF'N). I want to go to Miracle Valley AZ. Gimme some ideas folks. Cause I hear they ain;t nothin' out west 'cept cows and cactus (or is it cacti?). Would you go through Colorado first then return thru that little bitty Texas on the return?

Colorado is definitely beautiful - be sure to see Pike's Peak. In Arizona, Sedona is amazing - the huge natural red rock formations are worth the drive to see them. There is a restaurant there called "The Cowboy Club" that is worth going to.

Also, on the road up to Sedona from Phoenix, there is a place you'll go by that is where the ancient Cliff-dwellers lived - ancient Indian homes built right in the side of the mountain. It's fascinating to see!

Of course the Grand Canyon is a must - on north from Sedona, I think.

I don't know much about driving across Texas.

That is what I think of too--Sedona in AZ and the Grand Canyon.

Re: Travelling question

I would say Colorado before Texas OneAccord. Because if you come to TX from AZ, west TX is just more desert.......lol Much easier to come down from Colorado. North TX is okay but the hill counrty is the part of TX worth seeing besides the piney woods of east TX of course.........

Re: Travelling question

Sedona, Grand Canyon. Got it. Actually, I'm going to Prescott, AZ which, I believe is close to the GC. I want to go see Miracle Valley in S.AZ (I know, Trinitarian, Bad! Bad!) but I wanna go there anyhow.

And Texas. Got two things to see in Texas. Bro. Strange and Sis Falla. More to see, and do, but , ya gotta admit, nothing more beautiful than meeting to of my most admired people!

Re: Travelling question

wow I get to see one of Sis. Falla's brothers at church and one of her other brothers use to be here but moved away. I don't know if he still has the farm down here. They are a wonderful family Bro. OneAccord.

Re: Travelling question

Yes they are. At least from what I have read on here. But, (can ya keep a secret?) Sis Falla sure loves to talk. And talk. And talk. I loved it. We talked for a while on the phone and she is a sweet sister. I feel like I've known them for years. What a blessed family. And what a blessing she is to us all.

Re: Travelling question

What time of year are you planning to take this trip? That may have an impact on what you want to do in AZ?

Do you have any particular interests or hobbies that you might want to indulge in? Do you like museums, mountains, restaurants, photography, bird watching, golf, fishing?

There are many activities available in AZ just trying to figure what you might be interested in.

Re: Travelling question

In Arizona you have to see the Grand Canyon for sure. In Colorado, I would stop by and
visit the Royal Gorge. I believe this is the highest suspension bridge in the world.
Also, Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado is interesting.
