>>When the Preacher Curses<<

I have a question for AFF.

Have you ever heard a preacher pronounce a curse on someone?

Is that practice biblical?

Yes, I've heard that done. But the bible says we are called to "bless not to curse". To pronounce a curse on someone is witchcraft! I have unfortunately had personal experience with this kind of craziness.... Won't go into it here on the forum... You can pm me if you want.

I agree that we are called to bless not to curse. Preach the word.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Only once when I was younger and I was extremely uncomfortable being present during that service. I do not believe that it is biblical - James tells us blessing and cursing should not proceed from the same mouth.

Re: >>When the Preacher Curses<<

I have heard preachers say that someone "was cursed" because of their disobedience to a pastor. I've never heard one directly 'curse' someone though, other than through the use of "here is what happened to THIS guy" type stories.

Yes, I sure have!! I had one Apostolic preacher do it to me years ago. Many on here would know who he is. He said, "I curse you in Jesus' name." I responded back, "I bless you in Jesus' name." This went on a few times until he stopped.

I also know of preachers who believe in praying curses over people (both saved and unsaved) who oppose them. Such activity cannot be found in true Christianity, but it is found in witchcraft!

No I haven't but I believe it to be biblical and has to be led by the spirit to have it impact.

So I believe it to be biblical.

Acts 13:11
11 And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.”
And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
