There was a time when rustic gunslingers galavanted ingloriously.... in testosterone filled showdowns at the OK Corral ...

Rastling with outlaw Posses, rounding up Coon poachers and equalizing Elders. Then, of course, there was Mark and Benincasa .... with Heckle and Jekyll serving as the cheer squad.

Gone, into oblivion, are the Steadfast and IAintMovin'.

NOW, not so much. We spend our time posting baby and doggie pics while opining about ice cream, Sarah Palin, reality TV and what's for dinner.

Was this part of an admin conspiracy, with Praxeas and MOW wimpering along, or is Timmy, or the Mrs, to blame?

From what I've heard of the legend of DA, you pretty much cleaned house. I'm trying my best to stir things up but so far, the only takers are Pel and Coadie and they're enemies, and the fuss is about muslims. Coadie never knows what he's talking about and Pel is always right, except when he disagrees with me.

Maybe I should put up some pictures of my dogs.

Truer words have never been spoken, lol. Every time I respond to him, I wince at the thought I have missed something that he will catch. Luckily, I usually only post on things I am fairly sure of. But still, he is a fox. lol

You may say "cleaned house" I would say destroyed the very premise of the forum. If I wanted to spend a lot of time with a bunch of left wing condescending charismatics there are plenty of other sites to do that. AFF was unique in that it was a place for people from all Pentecostal perspectives to civilly discuss issues and fellowship. DA and his posse are the reason I don't spend very much time here anymore. Nice guy in person but I wish he had never found this forum.

Ouch!! I think he's great. I didn't read him in his hey-day but I've read his return and in my little bitty humble opinion, I think people have run because they have no answer to the truth.

Yes. He made the atmosphere intolerable for most conservatives. I am an exUPCer who "went Charismatic" in the minds of UPC folks many years ago but found that being a gentleman and using some common sense I could have some great discussions with the most conservative of Old Time Oneness Pentecostals who without a doubt personally think I am splitting hell wide open. That concept fell by the wayside with the arrival of DA and his little posse who thought being confrontational and condescending to conservatives was great sport.

Well, I suppose I would see it a different way. Since I've watched and posted, I've seen some pretty ugly conservative bullies who found out they couldn't push people like DA around. On top of that, he provided accurate content and is exegetically sound.

I know this....from personal discussions with him and others, I'm aware of a GREAT impact he and others have had on many lives, people who have seen the light of grace. Without this forum, many would still be struggling with the works program, living in fear, and struggling to somehow make God happy.

I'm not asking this in a confrontational way, but how many of your civil and great discussions with people who thought and continue to think you're going to split hell wide open, made a difference in any lives?

Mr. Smith, I concur with CC1's remarks...

Dan has a problem with civility and is a pot stirrer. Forums such as this have had them before and they eventually go the way of the dodo.

It is a shame that this is his forte because he is bright and has much to share of a positive nature. His posts on historical facts have been most informative.

Unfortunately, we rarely see it.

It is his in your face rhetoric that has caused me to be as CC1 and not spend a lot of time posting.

I don't believe people have run because they could not answer him, Mr. Smith. I believe they grew tired of his rants.

Yipes. CC1, I haven't seen you so vocal and angry since that preacher's wife shot and killed her husband dead (in the back) and only got a little time.

As for me, I never knew what did happen around here. I just knew there was a large conservaive exodus at some point. But I was so in and out of the forum and changing so much in my own life, I never could follow it.
