Apostolic Identity??
So I was looking through Facebook and I noticed that David Bernard had one, so I couldn't help but click. In that little box thinggy it said, "General superintendent of UPCI. I believe in Apostolic identity."
So I keep hearing this term "Apostolic Identity"? I guess I'm out of the loop so can someone tell me what this means? Is this how you spot an Apostolic from across the grocery store, or how to catch one sneaking into the movie theater, or what?
I don't get it.

Oh, I would just ask him, but his page says he doesn't answer questions. I think I'm gonna put that on my Facebook!

Do a search on "Apostolic Identity" on the forum. It's been discussed quite a bit.

I did....I'm not looking for 400 pages of bickering, I'm just looking for a simple explanation. It just sounds weird and cultish, but I don't wanna label before I know what I'm talking about.

It's more than just standards, it's also doctrinal.
I think it's another term for the Affirmation Statement
but applying it to the membership and not just ministers.

I think you are right that doctrine plays into the Apostolic Identity creed. It's one of the things that makes apostolics distinctive.

I believe in Apostolic Identity as well. From what I read... they will know us by our love one to another.
That is Biblically based Apostolic Identity.
