Two "Birther" Debate Facts That Deserve Notice

#1: The whole birth certificate controversy was started by Democrats back in the '08 Democratic primaries---from the Clinton campaign. So all you BO defenders can pin the blame where the blame is due.

#2: BO said yesterday that this issue was dominating the news when there were more important issues that needed to be focused on. However a weekly analysis of leading news outlets by Pew's Project for Excellence in Journalism found that the economy commanded 39% of coverage the week the deficit plans were released, compared with 4% on the Obama administration and the "birther" issue.

Did they really believe it was the dominant news story, or is there another reason not revealed?

It is so entertaining for me to see the birthers, and anti birthers get so worked up.

The blame began in the spring many months before the August primaries. Obama ratcheted it up by his revelatory stunt in July.

Today we have more bad employment figures. GDP growth is half of expectation and going down. Inflation is stinging and Obama is doing nothing.

I agree. The timing was obviously planned, Deke. Whether or not the planners succeeded in their ambitions is yet to be seen.

The President's itinerary shows just where his and his staff's priorities are right now: Fund Raising. It may be that they released the Long Form to coincided with some of his fundraising jaunts.

Pointing to the President's political opponents as a bunch of hayseeds and paranoid obsessive types while the Prez himself is "so clearly in the right" can be a good motivator to get folks to open up their checkbooks.

coadie... you are a "Birther." No one advocated the "Birther" doctrine more strenuously than you on this forum. It's your baby.

Even canam was chiming in and rooting for you on this. Don't try to obfuscate. Just eat your crow. It's good for you. It will help you to grow strong.

BHO said it was time to stop talking about his birth certificate and go on to the "real" issues and then left for the Oprah show.

Well, everyone knows that all truly serious issues must be discussed on the Oprah show.
