We've had natural disasters before

I live in Ca. Every year we have a natural disaster. Fires. Floods. Earthquakes.

This has not been a particularly bad year for disasters in the U.S. HuffPo is just trolling for readers. They're bankrupt and their merger with the disaster known as AOL has only weakened them further.

That being said, awful things happen all the time. We've got it good compared to those who suffered through the floods and hurricanes without any warning systems and were forced to stand naked, shivering through the night praying that the tree they had sheltered under didn't blow down like the one that had just wiped out their neighbors.
