Steve Pixler Selling Cornerstone Church!
Here is a link to a very interesting sermon where Pastor Pixler talks about the future of his church. After years of trying to sell the current building they had stopped trying and suddenly had four parties interested in buying it.
They are closing on the sale of their current building and then will be temporarily moving to a church facility they will be sharing while they find their new permanent facility to purchase or make plans to build.
A very interesting sermon. I find him very refreshing and enjoyable to listen to.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

To my knowledge he was never UPC. UPC was too liberal. He was either AMF or at least ran with those ultra con type folks. If Elder Epley sees this he can elaborate.

Duh! I know that but I was referring to his past. The vast majority of his ministry. That is why I referred to it in the past tense.
One of those rare cases where someone goes from ultra con to lib. Usually it is moderate to lib.

Yup. As I just said in another post this is pretty unusual for someone to move from where he was. However if you listen to many of his sermons you will find that internally at least this was going on for a long time as over time he came to believe differently than he did.
I only hope he took the time to prepare his church because if the foundation is not laid over time a lot of people won't make that trip with him. I have seen said instances where a pastor has changed a lot of what he believes over an extended period of time through prayer and bible study but then expects his congregation to make that journey in a matter of weeks or months. That is usually disasterous.
You can't tell Sister Patty that cutting her hair and wearing makeup is sending her to hell for 20 years then suddenly tell her it is ok, that you had been misunderstanding and misapplying the scriptures.
I am not saying that is the case here because I personally know very little about this pastor and church. I do know he was held in high regard by his ultra con brothers before he changed and that I have really enjoyed the handful of sermons I have listened to over the last year or so.

Re: Steve Pixler Selling Cornerstone Church!
Funny thing is about the aforementioned preacher......
I have heard some of his recent preaching, as anointed as a dead duck. No flow to it, seems like he is trying to prove something to whomever.
There has been a major exodus of the older generation from there, people that believe what his dad founded the church on.
It is rare that a church survives a shift like he has taken. What usually happens, as in this case, is a new congregation is formed. The old moves on.
Lots of people there that loved holiness preaching. This is a case of "can two walk together except they be agreed".
And, it appears like there is a major case of immorality flowing through that congregation. I'm sure there is no connection. ....
Mr P and his brother have made some drastic turns in their lives, hope it all works out.
