I hope the eleven minute sermon blesses and "rips you a new one" as it did me. I agreed with many things he spoke, but I was convicted of some things too.

Too bad David Wilkerson didn't meet Brother Billy Cole.

If we could all keep the deep burden that is so eloquently spoken on this sermon. It is so easy to become distracted by passivity and cares of life.
I'm sorry, but when I got to 3:00 I was done, Dave needed a good shot of the Joy of the Lord worse than the breath of life. He's was tired? Well, I'm tried of preachers who want to diminish the saints of God, instead of encouraging them.

Consider though who his audience was, apostatizing Trinitarian Pentecostals.
takes balance. Blessed are they that mourn. I don't disagree with you about the joy of the Lord, but I do regret the passivity of so many professing Christians. Maybe it was for me at the moment. Been a long day at a funeral home today and that may have set the mood.

Dave was my earliest influence. I read The Cross And The Switchblade years before I ever got saved. It deeply impressed me. When I did come to Jesus he was there as the leader of the Jesus Movement as far as I am concerned. Would have not happened apart from the way God used him.
And this 11 minute message is so true. Church is just sermons. Whether cold or hot. Thats about all it is. We have little comprehension of what it means to be a disciple to Christ.
I remember trying to have mourning services in Church. It was about like trying to have body ministry. We are so used to hearing happy, happy, happy. There is so little teaching or understanding about taking the cross and losing our lives for his.
If one preaches the fear of God or the wrath of God he is considered as nothing but a self righteous Pharisee! And yet Jesus has made it plain.....just how far short people can come up in his sight.
As far as balance thats so true it is essential. And yet we are SO FAR out of it a man could preach judgment, wrath, chastisment, holiness or Hell for 6 months to bring us back to the balance.
Yes we will enter a time of anguish down the road one day. In that day it wont be all about backslapping Preachers demanding amens. Perhaps then we will begin to realize the greatest hope we have is a heavenly hope! Seeking Jesus and getting close to him.

But that really isn't what the sermon is about. It leans more towards the whole idea that he is tired of people who are in his church who aren't measuring up to his expectations. The only thing that I know of that is worse is having to listen to an hour of Paul Washer. Wilkerson goes on and on about the world being in the church and the saints not measuring up. Well, Wilkerson should of just went out and got the ball rolling himself, and if anyone got inspired, then praise Jesus, they would follow his lead.
