I don't know if it is true, or even real that the actual Ark is around.
I do know that Orthodox Jews may be very interested in it.

There are several stories about what happened to the ark of the covenant.

I think National Geographic had a program where they explored some old stories about the ark being taken to Ethiopia. I've seen on the monitor where it is supposed to be kept and only special people have ever seen it.

Others think it was probably taken to Babylon and later melted down.

Some think it could be under the temple site where it has been hidden for centuries.

The Indiana Jones movie way back when was about the ark.

Jesus is our ark of the covenant (the place where God dwells among men). He is also our hilasmos (mercy seat, propitiation) 1 John 2:2

The late noted fringe "archeologist" Ron Wyatt claims to have seen the ark itself buried in rubble beneath the Temple Mount. He claims that it was hidden in a vault there decades before the destruction of 70 AD to protect it from Roman plundering. He states further that the blood of Jesus Christ as He hung on the cross flowed and seeped into the vault and sprinkled the mercy seat - part of the "plan" for our salvation. Of course for "security" reasons he never disclosed the present location of the ark before he died.

The Copts of Ethiopia beleive that the Queen of Sheba was really from Ethiopia and not Sheba and that she and Solomon had a love child. This son later travelled to Jerusalem to visit Soloman and asked to be given access to the ark so he could make a duplicate. He then swapped the "real" ark with the "fake" one and took it to Ethiopia where it has been (allegedly) ever since.

Of course no one is allowed to view the ark except one guy who is supposed to keep it polished and is sworn to secrecy about it. There is a legend about one of these guys who let "foreigners" in; he died horribly - kind of like the Nazis in Indiana Jones.

Vespasian's arch in Rome clearly shows booty from the Temple being carried off. Since the zealots who took control during the Roman invasion were confident of victory it is unlikely that they allowed any neferious stuff during their very brief rule. The Romans probably got everything that was there.

The amount of individuals who claim they're Navy Seals are surprising.
When confronted by real Navy Seals these individuals will continue with straight face to defend their position that they went through SEAL training. Even when hard evidence to the contrary is presented to them by the United States Navy.

We aren't talking about run of the mill delusion. We are talking about liars who without a second thought would go down swinging, before they would admit that they were lying. Did Ron Wyatt go to the Middle East to dig around? Yes. Did he find the Ark of the Covenant? Absolutely NOT. In this video Ron Wyatt will try to convince his listeners that all they need to do is believe in his evidence. Which has never been proven to be the things he claimed them to be. I've said this before, and I'll say this again. Ron Wyatt said that he spoke to four angels who instructed him to take some blurry pictures. The angels also told him that the tablets of the 10 commandments which were placed in the ark would be revealed when Ellen G White's prophecy concerning the Sunday Law would be fulfilled. If he lied, about that event, then honey child, why should you believe in anything else this charlatan has to say?

How the angels informed him that the tablets of stone would be revealed when Ellen G White's prophecy about the Sunday Law is enforced.
