All of those terms are only valid by comparison. It varies by situation, society, culture, historical context and many other ways.
However, the only valid comparison which should be made is to the word of God. Those who compare themselves by themselves are not wise.

These terms are used on a regular basis on this forum. It makes me wonder...

Regional comparisons can be deceiving, but this is the basis of many when the use "liberal", "conservative", and "moderate".
A moderate in Ohio would be classified as a ultra-liberal in California, and a liberal in Mississippi might be seen as moderate in Tennessee.
It is my opinion that the labels we use serve only to divide us. None of us can really define what the buzz word labels mean, but we group up under the banner of one label or the other and declare that the others are barking up the wrong tree.
Perhaps we should just call ourselves Christians, as they did in the New Testament.

Re: Curious
Compared to my middle sister I'm a conservative, but compared to the other two...I'm a liberal. Compared to a neighbouring church--definitely a liberal. Compared to some of my friends--conservative. Some people think I'm moderate. I hope I'm balanced. I really don't care what other people call me.

Re: Curious
Conservative, Moderate, Liberal is very subjective.
You see to me, Right, Center, & Left all depend on my point of view!

That depends on whose holding the yardstick. The word used to describe the followers of Christ in the Bible was "Christians". I think thats a good name. Labels? Who needs 'em. We're CHRISTIAN brothers and sisters. Works for me!

aint no such thing as a large conservative church. You cant keep up with everybody.
25-30 is the perfect size and half of that has to be family.
I keep busy enough driving around checking for the "blue glow" in the heatherns windows
if you have more than 50 people you aint got no standards

I hear that those newfangled plasma screens don't give off that tell tale blue glow.
Furthermore, how can we tell if it's TV or the Internet from the road?
