Thank God for Change

I've discussed with others how experience changes us.

I have some pastor friends who are extreme on their view about divorce and remarriage. If you ever divorce you can never remarry, under any circumstances.

Well, one pastor who felt this way, his wife leaves him. He waited for 5 lonely years for her to return, but nothing.

He found another woman and remarried, and he was kicked to the curb by some of these other men who still have wives. I've told men who take this stand, "I want to see how you would react if your wife did the same thing."

All of these conservative men who have intimacy, affection, and friendship find it easy to tell others to stay single when tragedy has struck. But if that day ever comes, the single life can be more than unbearable for some, even to those who took this stand which I consider to be inhuman.

People are born to live in relationship, and when we tell people they can't ever marry again, we leave them in one of the most hopeless dilemmas that a person could ever face.

The pastor, who once made these bold proclamations, has now been doused by experience, leaving him with deep understanding and compassion. Thank God for change.

Re: Thank God for Change

Its not even for man to tell other men how to live., everything that man needs to guide him in life while in the flesh, is found in GODS WORD., directed by GOD HIMself!
So while its easy to blame MEN for saying such & such, or doing such & such..ultimately it is to GOD whom we all must give an answer to., therefore I wish that people would just take it up with HIM directly..I know that many people do and thats great!
GOD alone gives the strength to endure obedience to HIS WORD., so it is not impossible to bear what comes, especially if people learn to overcome the flesh as JESUS did., AGAIN .. HIS WORD enables this., whatever "doesn't kill us only makes us stronger", as they say.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, or whatever..yet it is all truthfully said as IS my opinion.
