Denominations

Our own Trouvere and her husband (Dana and Bruce Klein) thinks denominations are demon controlled. From their website:

Quote:
The UPC is a denomination! (United Pentecostal Church)
The ALJC is a denomination! (Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ)
The PAW is a denomination! (Pentecostal Assemblies of the World)
The WPF is a denomination! (Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship)

VII. Demons are in Control of Your Denomination’s Leadership
The spirit of Jezebel is in control of all denominations/organizations! These demons are known as the spirit of Jezebel, spirit of religion, spirit of control, spirit of witchcraft, spirit of mind control, spirit of the Nicolaitans, demon of spiritual abuse, spirit of hierarchy, spirit of manipulation, spirit of intimidation, spirit of cult bondage, etc.

What is Jesus saying to you who are leaders or a part of a denomination/organization? The denominations will be tempting you to sin, because there are demons behind each organization. All denominations are wicked and adulterous! So, you must beware of their doctrines, says Jesus.

What kind of church are we supposed to go to? Does anyone here agree with this view? full article:

Re: Denominations

Trouvere is well intentioned. God really does not care what our associations are. This kind of rhetoric is nothing more than a pendulum swing - a reaction to those who think their denomination is the body of Christ.

I agree with the sentiment but "demon controlled" is a little too radical. what church are we supposed to attend?

Re: Denominations

In my above post I had spelled out demon instead of denom... So I went back and changed it to denomination. Perhaps they had a similar typo.

Re: Denominations

I see they use the terms "spirits" and "demons" quite loosely. I don't feel comfortable with that in general.

Re: Denominations

Their group also teaches deception. I see they promote the pre trib rapture in their beliefs. It is true that all the current Denominations are at least in part opposing the faith once delivered to the saints.

I think I agree! Furthermore, I think it's true for us as individuals also - myself included. This fact is cause for humility and introspection, not arrogance or self-righteousness.

The knowledge that we fall short should drive us to embrace him more, not judge others with a spirit of exceptionalism.

LOL!!! Pentecost is truly made up of tiny little groups each believing the others are "deceived", "evil", "wrong" etc. The website referenced in the premise of this thread is extraordinarily offensive and not Christian at all then your assertion that those who do not agree with your view regarding pre, post, or mid trib are practicing "deception" is pretty much in the same vein. The truth is nobody has all of the answers. My personal view is pre trib but I will not be surprised at all if I am wrong. In the meantime I am going to refrain from demonizing those who differ with my view. You ought to try that sometime.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
