I need to replace it, but hate to give up my low monthly fee. Same number and carrier since my first phone March 1997. Corporate growth has changed the name a few times......currently Verizon, although my phone still plays the Alltel music when opened
I would like smart phone type features but at an affordable price.
Has anyone used the no contract phones?
Do you like it?
I see so many ads but by nature I'm a skeptic and believe nothing.

I used metro PCS for a long time. I really enjoyed the 50 bucks a month unlimited everything. Problem was, with carriers that require no contract, their network is horrible. Constantly dropping calls, text messages don't go through all the time, and when they do they send multiple of the same one.
I decided to go with AT&T a little over a year ago and got a smartphone. Once this contract is up, I'm going back to a flip phone and get rid of the extra fees.

Yeah, I probably will be. Good network, I get service pretty much everywhere. I live in the foothills of California, and most carriers have difficulty up here.
Do not go to Boost! I have it, and yes, I cast my phone to the ground in holy anger yesterday . The signal would show 2 bars, and then would drop as I called someone. Cut rate phone company. As soon as possible, will be switching possibly to Cricket.

You can purchade an ATT "Go Phone" at WalMart (shudders). They are fairly cheap. Insert the current active sim card. Call ATT and cancel all the extras. You don't have to wait until the contract ends.
