Does anybody here recall anything about the story that Rev. Carroll McGruder was preaching at a camp meeting in Arkansas back in the 80s? Bill Clinton was then governor of the state, was visiting the service, and sitting on the platform with the preachers. The story goes that, in the middle of his message, Rev. McGruder turned to Gov. Clinton and prophesied that Jesus would return while he was president. We all know that if Hillary is the next president of the United States, God will recognize Bill as head of the household as the president, not her. So the prophecy could come true. Now, it could be one of those "Pentecostal Urban Legends." Or it could be real. I have no idea. Back in the 90's I tried to track down the preaching tape from that service but to no avail. I even contacted Rev. McGruder to ask him if the story was true but he never replied. Has anybody heard about this? And if anybody here has the tape, I would appreciate a digital copy of it!
1. I don't think its true. I have too much respect for Brother McGruder to think he would fall into that beartrap.
2. don't contort yourself into a pretzel to get bill to be president "in Gods eye"
3. if Hillary is president God will view her as president not her husband.
Judgement begins at the household of God. God does not recognize Bill as the head of the household. He recognizes both of them as sinners in need of his grace.

I was going to respond to the original post but I will just ditto Ferdinand's post here. Perfect answer.
I just have to chuckle at the "pretzle" comment. So many times Pentecostal folks jump through hoops to try and make something fit something. If this prophecy did take place it was a clear miss and no amount of twisting of logic can change that!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

it aint just peneticostals.
we have a rabid bunch of pan-Christians running around trying to slap Gods values for his kids onto lost folk that don't know God, don't care about God and will only find God when we stop trying to make them good to get God.
it bothers me. both when Pentecostals do it as well as when any other group of Christians do it.

I had a feeling it was a fake story, too. Somebody told me this when I was in Bible college "back in the day."
As with most second (or third, or fourth) hand stories, they typically are missing a few facts.

You sure you didn't get this confused with a Lee Stoneking story?

I was there but I don't remember this happening or being talked about. I really think if this had happened we would have heard about it at church forever cause my preacher was big into anything involving the end time. Side note: My distaste for Hillary started at Arkansas Camp meetings. She always set on the platform with horrible looks on her face!!
