May the Lord have mercy on us all! Women that preach need his mercy and men that don't need his mercy. So we are all in need of mercy. I had rather be out in the field with my sickle working than sitting on a pew and wasting my time on endless shopping sprees and hunting trips...I"ll take my chance spending my time telling others about Jesus.

Sister Alvear, I could NOT agree MORE!!!
This post hit me between the eyes! For anyone to criticize someone who is laboring in the field while they are basically doing nothing---my my my...mercy is right!
Sister Alvear America is going to have ALOT to answer for.
I think I want to use your quote as my sig line is that ok?
Define "preach" and you'll have your Biblical answer. This is NOT usurping authourity over a man in and of itself, though it can become that real quick when a group lets a woman with a certain spirit run around like a loose cannon. She's just following suit likely, so many claim to be in the will of God, or in the Holy Ghost.
Of course we must be careful, if the men will not stand up and say what needs to be said, I can see God using a woman to do it. He has used less, how much more so one of His own daughters. Naturally, if he does use one of his daughters it will be in a Godly fashion with meekness and humility, not some Paula Bunyan in a black skirt, or pant suit, complete with a feminazi strut. This a daughter in good standing not likely, though, perhaps a daughter unto herself.
Lastly, to suggest that a woman cannot minister is to be entirely ignorant of the true meaning of that word and thus what true ministry really is.
Will God condemn a male preacher for conducting funerals?
(No Biblical precedence)
Will God condemn a male preacher for conducting marraiages?
(No Biblical precedence)
Will God condemn a male preacher for allowing Sunday School?
(No Biblical precedence)
Will God condemn a male preacher for allowing musical instruments in worship?
(No NT precedence)
Of course not. Though there is no Biblical precedence for the above, we know these are accepted duties and practices of the ministry. The REAL question we should ask ourselves is....
Will God condemn a male preacher for judging women who (they say) are out of order for doing something they have no Biblical precedence for, when, they, themselves, do the same?
The truth is, however, women Do have Biblical precedence for doing what they feel God has called them to do. Its found in Jhn 2:5 : His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. This timely word, spoken by a women is a directive we should all follow.

Waiting for the Lord is easy... Waiting patiently? Not so much.

I was going to ask Bro. Eastman WHY he had to go and start another thread of this type...however...I think I like how this one is going thus far.
