Im pretty sure of these three though :-) ...

At least one has been saying for a while, before the res 4 vote, they wanted to leave. It was a matter of changing the makeup (no pun intended) of the board to be able to vote they leave.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

(At first, after reading your post, I wondered if he meant he would be disaffiliating the church; however, in the manual, the church is not noted as affiliated.) In fact, I have heard rumor of one family that has already said they would be leaving to attend a UPCI church.... Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
This doesn't make any earthly sense to me. Why would they leave the church because it will no longer be in the upc? The church will probably continue to be ran the same way.

Seems as if people give more glory to an organization than they do God

Doesn't make sense to me either....

However, I do think that there are some people who will be loyal to the UPCI regardless - maybe because that's all they are familiar with - or for family reasons.

I'm just watching it all unfold.

I can see situation where a family has a rich heritage in the UPC. They may have uncles, brothers, fathers or sons that are UPC pastors. They know that there is safety in the ark!

How many "sources" do you have?? ...

The church is NOT affiliated but I don't think your church is either is it? SweetPea...

Most larger Churches aren't...

If the Pastor turns his card in or doesn't make payment and is dropped the Church that is Affiliated is turned over to the UPC... and the Pastor is out...
